Home Sweet Home

It's finally happened. RHETT CAME HOME!!! After a month in the NICU, and 3 days of teasing us, the doctors finally discharged Rhett and said he was healthy enough to come home. It was a crazy week with the docs saying he could come home and then some medical thing would happen and delay him another day or two. On the first day, we showed up to take him away, and the nurse had stuck a IV back in his hand and said his stomach was distended and they were going to monitor him and take him off of food to give his little belly a break. Also his skin looked modelled (sp?) and she was really nervous for him. 36 hours later, we are again ready to take him home. Belly, okay. Skin, okay. Blood pressure, not okay. Randomly his blood pressure spiked and they again sent us home empty handed. The cardiologist was called, tests are done and they again need to monitor him. Finally, we got the call from our nurse with the great news that Rhett is healthy enough to be in our care instead of theirs. This poor little guy has been through so much, and we are so happy to FINALLY have him.

Naomi was so excited to have Bennett home, now that both of them are home she is having the time of her life. She is such a great big sister.

One Down, One to Go!

This has been a really great week. On Sunday we got word that our little Benny Boy could come home with us. Despite his jaundice and his bruising on his head, the doctors said he was healthy enough to go home. YEAH!!!! Naomi has been absolutely wonderful with him. She loves to hold him and help change his diaper. Her little kisses are the cutest thing.

Rhett is hopefully on his way out. He was transfered yesterday from level 3 NICU to the Special Care Nursery. All of his wires were taken out and they are just monitoring his vitals until he is discharged. It'll be great to have them both home and have our family together.
